Jae-Hwan Kim
Jae-Hwan Kim is a founding partner of ANSI. Since his admission to the bar in 2005, he has specialised in all aspects of insurance, shipping, international trade and international construction. He holds a Master of Laws from the University of Southampton in the UK, where he studied international trade law, maritime law and insurance law.
Mr Kim is experienced in complex international litigation and arbitration across all types of international disputes. He has handled many major shipping and insurance cases, including the MV Hebei Spirit oil spill, the capsizing of the MV Sewol, the Air China aircraft crash at Gimhae and the insurance claim for the Icheon warehouse fire. He has also been involved in a variety of international trade law cases.
His expertise is widely recognised in Korea and abroad. Chambers & Partners ranked him as a leading lawyer in insurance for nine consecutive years from 2014 to 2022, and Asialaw selected him as a distinguished or notable practitioner from 2017 to 2021.
